Studio B Hall of Fame: Racine

Racine has been coming to Studio B since 2015 and has completed over 600 barre classes! Never without a smile, Racine has such a bubbly and outgoing personality and we absolutely love having her in class! Get to know more about her below.

How did you get introduced to Studio B?

I’ve always loved exercising but found it difficult to exercise on my own, especially at the gym. One day I just got tired of walking around the gym like a chicken with its head cut off and wanted to join some sort of class. I remembered hearing about barre many years before I actually started going and wondered if it had made its way to Edmonton. Sure enough it was 5 minutes from my office at the time and we have been an item ever since.

Why do you barre so hard?

It’s so ADDICTING. I literally cannot help myself from going.

How has barre impacted you?

It has taught me that exercise can be fun and something to look forward to.

What keeps you motivated and coming back to Studio B?

I love the sense of community and how beautiful inside and out everyone is.

Favourite barre exercise or series?

All of them.

Other than barre, what other types of exercising or activities do you do?

Yoga and I go way back. I've been practicing religiously for over 10 years now and I can finally touch my toes. I also have become obsessed with paddleboarding. So, Jason if you're reading this, I would love one for my birthday in a couple of weeks, thanks.

Tell us something we don’t know about you.

After skipping University following high school and landing a good career at a young age. I decided to go back to University and pursue my dream of becoming an Elementary School Teacher. After managing a career full time and school full time my dream has officially come true and I've been teaching grade 2 since January.

Favourite way to treat yourself?

Oh boy, food gets me every time.

Favourite movie and book of all time?

I recently read Where the Crawdads Sing and it was amazing.

Favourite place to eat in Edmonton?

Rge Rd or Fairmont Hotel MacDonald brunch. I am also still a sucker for nuggets at Mcdonald’s. (Don't judge me LOL!)

Favourite local spot?

If I don’t say "my backyard" Jason will kill me. He recently just built us the deck of our dreams, with a hot tub and it is truly spectacular.

What is your favourite quote? (If you have one.)

“Be the change you want to see in the world.” - Gandhi
