Studio B Hall of Fame: Pam

With almost 150 SOAR classes under her belt, Pam is no stranger to the rebounder. She's always working her butt off in class, with her encouraging energy giving our instructors an extra boost while teaching. Learn more this sweet and gentle soul below!

How did you get introduced to SOAR?

I was searching the internet for low impact cardio ideas, and came across the bellicon rebounder. The search results also returned Studio B's SOAR website that offered classes in Edmonton.

Why do you SOAR?

I am an avid tennis player, but I injured my shoulder last winter and I needed to take a break from tennis. I also have a previous knee injury from years ago, all the ligaments in my right knee are completely torn. Because of my bad knee I am limited in what type of fitness I can participate in. I was looking for something low impact on my knees other than swimming or yoga, which I don’t really enjoy doing. I find that a SOAR class is perfect for me because I get a great cardio workout and it does not bother my knee as much as other activities.

How has SOAR impacted you?

My cardio is much better and my quality of sleep has improved.

What keeps you motivated and coming back to Studio B?

I really enjoy SOAR, I haven’t tried or can’t think of any other fitness that I get a great workout and is easy on my joints. The instructors are very positive and encouraging.

Favourite part of class?

End of the last sprint.

Other than SOAR, what other types of exercising or activities do you do?

Tell us something we don’t know about you.

I am a makeup and skincare junkie.

Favourite way to treat yourself?

I go for a massage every 3-4 weeks.

Favourite movie and book of all time?

Movie: Dr Zhivago. Book: To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.

Do you have a favourite quote?

Yes. “Be kind, for everyone is fighting a battle you know nothing about.”
